Here are greetings equivalent to “hello” in a few African languages:

  2. Zulu (South Africa): “Sawubona” (used when addressing one person) or “Sanibonani” (used when addressing multiple people)
  3. Xhosa (South Africa): “Molo” (used when addressing one person) or “Molweni” (used when addressing multiple people)
  4. Yoruba (Nigeria): “Ẹ ku abọ” (pronounced eh-koo ah-boh)
  5. Amharic (Ethiopia): “ሰላም” (pronounced “selam”)

These are just a few examples, as there are thousands of languages spoken across the African continent, each with its own unique greeting customs and phrases.
