Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls via Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary

Your driver/guide will pick you up from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe early in the morning to begin the journey north. Enjoy scenic views of Uganda’s lush countryside as you travel toward Nakasongola District.
Stop 1: Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
● This is the only place in Uganda where you can trek wild rhinos on foot.

● Led by experienced rangers, you’ll get up-close to white rhinos in their natural habitat.

● The tracking experience typically lasts 1 to 2 hours, depending on the rhinos’ location.
After rhino tracking, enjoy lunch at the sanctuary or nearby restaurant, then proceed to Murchison Falls National Park, entering via the southern gate (Kichumbanyobo or Bugungu depending on accommodation). Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in, and relax as you prepare for an early start the next day.
Optional: If time allows, you may enjoy a short sunset drive or nature walk near the lodge.

Travel Time:
● By road: ~5 hours (including Ziwa visit)
● By air: Optional scheduled flight (~1 hr 10 mins) from Entebbe to Pakuba or Chobe airstrip (advance booking required)

Meal Plan: Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation Options:

Day 2: Morning Game Drive & Afternoon Nile Boat Safari

Morning: Game Drive in Murchison Falls National Park. After an early breakfast, set off for a game drive on the northern banks of the River Nile. This area of the park is teeming with wildlife and offers expansive savannah views.

On this game drive, expect to see:
● Towering Rothschild giraffes
● Elephants, buffaloes, and waterbucks
● Predators like lions and, if lucky, leopards
● Uganda kobs, Jackson’s hartebeests, oribis, and more

The game drive lasts approximately 3 to 4 hours depending on animal sightings and your preferences.

Return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest.
Afternoon: Boat Cruise to the Bottom of Murchison Falls
In the afternoon, enjoy a 2-hour boat safari along the Victoria Nile, heading upstream to the base of the falls.
Highlights of the cruise:
● Close encounters with hippos, Nile crocodiles, and elephants at the water’s edge
● Birdwatching: look out for African fish eagles, kingfishers, bee-eaters, and possibly the elusive shoebill stork
● A dramatic view of Murchison Falls, where the Nile funnels through a 7-meter rocky gorge, creating what’s known as the “Devil’s Cauldron”
Return to your lodge in the evening.

Meal Plan: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
Accommodation: Same lodge as Day 1

Day 3: Visit the Top of Murchison Falls & Return to Kampala or Entebbe. After breakfast, check out of your lodge and drive to the Top of Murchison Falls.

● Stand at the edge of the thunderous falls where the mighty Nile forces its way through a narrow cleft in the rock—an unforgettable photo opportunity.
● The mist, power of the water, and a permanent rainbow arch make for an awe-inspiring natural spectacle.
After exploring the top of the falls, begin the drive back to Kampala or Entebbe, arriving in the afternoon or early evening.
