Day 1:

The journey kicks off at 3:00 AM in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital.

As the day begins, you’ll travel northward, passing the Volcanoes National Park en route to Uganda via the Cyanika border. Upon reaching Ntebeko, your starting point in Mgahinga, you’ll receive a briefing about gorilla tracking in this part of the Virunga Region.

Mgahinga is home to the Nyakagezi Group, a charming gorilla family with four silverback gorillas. Unlike Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the gorilla trek here is shorter in duration, allowing you to experience the magic of encountering these incredible creatures in a condensed time frame.
